The Anti-Bullying Awareness & Action Program
This unique, holistic and practical program is designed to help create awareness and assist children and their families in dealing with bullying, which in its various forms is still a significant problem in our schools, our work environments and online.
The negative effects of bullying can result in lack of self-confidence and depletion of self-worth, ability to study and/or work, depression, anxiety & panic attacks, developing trust in relationships, a worsening in general mental health, self-harming and suicidal tendencies.
We offer practical help, including using effective language tactics to deal with bullying situations, self-defense instruction, mediation with the bully and their family where possible, and an intervention with the school administration if required.
The key is to identify a potential or actual bullying problem as early as possible and then craft a specific plan of action to deal with it. Parents need to be aware of subtle and acute changes in their child’s behavior that may be a result of bullying.
Verbal bullying can consist of name-calling, teasing and negative and insulting language aimed at the victim. Social bullying involves spreading false and negative rumors, excluding a person from various group activities and mobilizing others to gang up against a victim.
Physical bullying includes minor and major physical aggressive behavior.
In the age of the internet, a new but highly debilitating form known as
Cyber bullying has emerged. This utilizes social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or texts and emails to negatively impact the victim.
If you or your child has been the victim of bullying in any form, you can email us in confidence at [email protected].
